KOTZEBUE, Alaska -Tech. Sgt. Jessie Escalera, an load planner craftsman with 86th Aerial Port Squadron, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., waits to secure the next pallet of cargo onto the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft. The 10-year Reservist was a member of the 446th Airlift Wing aerial port team that helped move medical personnel and cargo to Alaskan locals in remote villages, in support of Operation Arctic Care, a joint-service medical readiness and logistics training exercise that provided humanitarian assistance to underserved communities in the U.S. The three-week operation ended April 26. KOTZEBUE, Alaska -Aerial porters from various units, including the 86th Aerial Port Squadron, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., load medical and general supplies aboard the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft, to be delivered to Alaskan locals in remote villages. The 446th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, an Air Force Reserve unit, celebrates 50 years of saving lives with a picnic July 12 at Heritage Hill, McChord Air Force Base, Wash. The Air Force Reserve provides 63 percent of the Air Force's aeromedical evauation capability.

BUSH FIELD, Augusta, Ga.- Staff Sgt. Karissa Kvam, a Reservist with the 446th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, McChord Field, secures a litter stantion aboard a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft, during her preparation for a training mission, July 19. Sergeant Kvam's unit, the 446th AES was honored by AFRC with its Outstanding Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron Award, for having top notch Reservists who led a Turkisk aeromedical evacuation team on the C-17 Globemaster aircraft and patient support pallet. 446th AES earns Outstanding Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron Award
The 446th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, McChord Field, JBLM, won the Air Force Reserve Command Outstanding Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron Award, September 2010. In June 2009, the 446th AES were the Air Force lead for Operation ARCTIC SPRING, exercising both U.S. Air Force and Army personnel along with local facilities in their response time for preparation and coordination in the event of a natural disaster.
