446th Aerial Porters bring relief through Operation Arctic Care

KOTZEBUE, Alaska -Tech. Sgt. Jessie Escalera, an load planner craftsman with 86th Aerial Port Squadron, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., waits to secure the next pallet of cargo onto the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft. The 10-year Reservist was a member of the 446th Airlift Wing aerial port team that helped move medical personnel and cargo to Alaskan locals in remote villages, in support of Operation Arctic Care, a joint-service medical readiness and logistics training exercise that provided humanitarian assistance to underserved communities in the U.S. The three-week operation ended April 26.
