Commissaries host On-Site Sales to benefit Reservists
MARTINSBURG, W. VA., -- Members of the 167th Airlfit Wing, West Virginia Air National Guard, gather around a freezer ful of steaks on sale at the commissary On-Site Sale here July 10. Commissary workers from Andrews Air Force Base, Md., set up shop in a hangar at the unit and offered a variety of grocery, produce, and meat items for military members, retiree's and their families. Commissaries, Military Exchanges, Recreation Facilities access expands to veterans, caregivers
Starting Jan. 1, 2020, access will expand to include all veterans with service-connected disabilities, Purple Heart recipients, former prisoners of war, and individuals approved and designated as the primary family caregivers of eligible veterans under the Department of Veterans Affairs Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers. Commissary Club
Large refrigerators and freezers stand ready to display club pack-sized products as the March 7 opening day approaches for the McChord Field Commissary's new warehouse shopping section. Named "Commissary Club" by the Defense Commissary Agency, the renovated 10,000-square foot area of the commissary warehouse is dedicated to club packs and other oversized-packaged products commonly found in commercial warehouse club stores. Communications delivery for ABMS exercise
Coast Guardsmen secure communications equipment to a line to bring it aboard USS Thomas Hudner (DDG 116) in the Gulf of Mexico Dec. 16, 2019. Reservists from the 446th Airlift Wing and firefighters from the Central Pierce County Fire Department load boxes full of donated food into a van Dec. 18, 2014 at the Central Pierce County Fire Department in Midland, Washington. These Christmas boxes will go to families in need within the community. Fifty two of them are being donated to 446th AW Reservists. This year marks the tenth anniversary for the fundraiser. Peter Grossenbach, from the 728th Airlift Squadron, and Maj. Mike Masuda, from the 313th Airlift Squadron – represented Team USA Military during the annual international military pentathlon competition Aug. 2. Grossenbach represented the U.S. as part of an international team and won third place in the novice category. Masuda rejoined his team for another bout, this time competing in the experienced category. The pentathlon consists of: pistol shooting, rifle shooting, 500-meter land obstacle course, 50-meter water obstacle course, and up to a 15-kilometer orienteering, or land-navigation, event that also encompasses combat first aid.
