Brewing up a solid track record
Tech Sgt. Anders Nilsen (left) and Senior Airman Juan Rodriguez from the 446th Civil Engineer Squadron discuss training strategy outside a tent used to transport bare base potable water for expeditionary field kitchens, bathrooms, and clinics during a field exercise at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla. on May 24, 2011. Sergeant Nilsen and his son, Tech Sgt. Jason Nilsen, a joint terminal attack controller instructor with the 1st Air Support Operations Group at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Lewis-Main, Wash., share a passion for service in the Air Force. They also share a unique hobby during their downtime together: homebrewing. Thanks to a lengthy break in service from the senior Nilsen, father and son are set to retire around the same time. Their post-retirement plans include opening a brewery in Oregon. "My dad perfects the process... I try to perfect the recipes," said Jason. Sounds like the perfect team.
