JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash.- Comedian Carlos Mencia, gets to "fly" a C-17 Globemaster III in a flight simulator with his "co-pilot", Capt. Eric Hodges, a pilot and Reservist with the 728th Airlift Squadron, Nov. 19. Experiencing the simulator was part of Mencia's "Tour for the Troops", sponsored by the Air Force Reserve. Airmen in 446th Aeromedical Staging Squadron show how they care
JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash., - The 446th Aeromedical Staging Squadron Reservists won the trophy in the 446th Airlift Wing's Care and Share food drive by collecting food and cash totaling $1,102. The Care and Share program, managed by the 446th Mission Support Squadron's Airman and Family Readiness Flight, provides assistance to people in the 446th AW who are in need of a helping hand by providing food baskets for the holidays. Balan Ayyar, Air Force Recruiting Service commander, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, during Major Lee’s promotion ceremony at the 446th AW headquarters auditorium here, Oct 1. Major Lee was promoted to lieutenant colonel. Colonel Lee and General Ayyar graduated from the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. in 1987. They were in undergraduate pilot training together at Columbus Air Force Base, Miss., where they became friends. They worked together as T-37 Tweet instructor pilots at Columbus AFB as their first duty assignments. In 1994, General Ayyar commanded the 4th Airlift Squadron at then, McChord Air Force Base, Wash., while Colonel Lee flew the C-141 Starlifter as a Reservist with the 313th Airlift Squadron, also at McChord AFB.
