A servant’s heart
Lt. Cmdr. Jack McCain, U.S. Navy officer and son of the late John McCain, swears-in Timothy Falcone, Grand Canyon University clinical lab instructor and health professional, Feb. 24, 2021 at the McCain residence in Phoenix, Arizona. Falcone was expected to commission over a year ago but his plans were put on hold due to COVID-19. A time for giving
TACOMA, Wash.- Rows of Christmas food baskets made by workers with the Central Pierce County Fire and Rescue Department here are ready to be distributed to families in need during the holiday season. Reservists with the 446th Mission Support Squadron Airmen and Family Readiness Center, McChord Air Force Base, Wash. came here to pick up 34 baskets of food to bring back to McChord AFB and distribute to needy Reservist families. A1C Dominic Luka
Some might consider Airman 1st Class Dominic Luka a foreigner, but experiencing loss is definitely something that’s familiar to him. By age 11, Luka suffered the loss of, his father, stepmother, a sister, and two brothers. As one of the Lost Boys of the Sudan, he was evacuated from his homeland and sent to a Kenyan refugee camp before coming to the United States and enlisting into the Air Force Reserve. A1C Dominic Luka
Airman 1st Class Dominic Luka has travelled to many places from the Sudan to New York City and to Oregon, with the purpose of improving his life. As one of the Lost Boys of the Sudan, Luka was evacuated from his homeland and sent to a Kenyan refugee camp before coming to the United States and enlisting into the Air Force Reserve. A1C Dominic Luka
Before Airman 1st Class Dominic Luka’s 12th birthday he lost more loved ones than most people have in their 30s and 40s. His father was killed in the civil war in the Sudan, and two of his brothers, one of his sisters, and his stepmother died of illness. As one of the Sudan “Lost Boys” Luka was evacuated from his homeland and sent to a Kenyan refugee camp before coming to the United States and enlisting into the Air Force Reserve. He’ll be assigned to the 446th Force Support Squadron, out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, McChord Field, Wash. when he finishes basic training and his technical school. ACC commander announces new award
U.S. Air Force retired Lt. Col. James Harvey III a member of the storied 332nd Fighter Group of the Tuskegee Airmen is applauded during the William Tell 2023 opening ceremony dinner at the Air Dominance Center in Savannah, Ga. Col. Harvey and the 332d Fighter Group were the winners of the “Best Overall Team Award” during the first-ever gunnery meet held in 1949 at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. The best air and ground crews from across the Air Force fighter enterprise will compete in September at the 2023 William Tell Air-to-Air Weapons Meet, the first fighter competition of its kind in nearly two decades.
