A1C Dominic Luka

Before Airman 1st Class Dominic Luka’s 12th birthday he lost more loved ones than most people have in their 30s and 40s. His father was killed in the civil war in the Sudan, and two of his brothers, one of his sisters, and his stepmother died of illness. As one of the Sudan “Lost Boys” Luka was evacuated from his homeland and sent to a Kenyan refugee camp before coming to the United States and enlisting into the Air Force Reserve. He’ll be assigned to the 446th Force Support Squadron, out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, McChord Field, Wash. when he finishes basic training and his technical school.
