Honoring our Hereos
MCCHORD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash., - Reservists for the 446th Airlift Wing salute while in formation during a 9-11 Ceremony here. The ceremony, hosted by the 446th Airlift Wing and Brig. Gen. Eric Crabtree, served to honor 9-11 first responders, such as firefighters, police, and paramedics. Reservists who work as first responders in their civilian careers wore those uniforms in formation to acknowledge that dual role. Observing the "war"
HUNTER ARMY AIRFIELD, Ga., - Master Sgt. Lyle Lane, 446th Airlift Control Flight at McChord Air Force Base, Wash., observes a foreign object damage team preparing the parking ramp for aircraft following a simulated attack here. Golden Medic 2006
AUGUSTA, Ga., - Lt. Col. Randy Miller from the 446th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, McChord Air Force Base, Wash.,, holds an I.V. bag up over a mannequin used as a patient being held in the patient insertion tent June 16 at Augusta Regional Airport at Busch Field, Ga., one of the locations of Golden Medic 2006. Golden Medic is an annual training medical exercise that involves a collaborating participation between the Air Force and Army. The two services worked together for 12 days at Fort Gordon, and Augusta Regional Airport at Busch Field, Ga., to become fully trained in the medical fields of patient transporting, ground and air, treating, holding and the ability to survive and operate in a forward area. MEDLITE 06
Tunisian and U.S. military medical personnel load a stretcher onto a waiting Tunisian helicopter during a mass casualty exercise for MEDLITE 2006 at Kharrouba Air Base in Bizerte, Tunisia. MEDLITE 2006 provides an exchange of medical skills, techniques and procedures between US Air Force medical service personnel and the Tunisian Military Health Services. Reservist transforms from islander to American citizen
MCCHORD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash., - Airman First Class Nicole Cyrus, a Reservist with the 728th Airlift Squadron, became a U.S. citizen March 20. A native of the Caribbean island Trinidad and Tobago, Airman Cyrus immigrated to western Washington in 2001.

Serving those who gave it all
McCHORD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash., - Maj. Bruce Simpson, 446th Services Flight port mortuary, recently returned from his deployment to the port mortuary at Dover AFB, Del. While at Dover, he helped process more than 400 remains. During her career, he's helped process remains for aircraft crashes, the Kenya embassy bombings, the Space Shuttle Columbia crash and the 9/11 Pentagon attack.
