Reservist leads from the front
MCCHORD FIELD, Wash. - Lt. Col. Maggie Elder, 36th Aerial Port Squadron operations officer here, finished first in the women’s division and placed eighth overall in a Half Ironman competition Feb. 19 in Corpus Christi, Texas. An Ironman 70.3, also known as a Half Ironman, is a three-part race that involves a 1.2-mile swim, followed by a 56-mile bike ride, ending with a grueling 13.1-mile run that is both a mental and physical challenge. Ironwoman
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS - Lt. Col. Maggie Elder, 36th Aerial Port Squadron operations officer here, finished first in the women’s division and placed eighth overall in a Half Ironman competition Feb. 19, with a time of 5 hours, 24 minutes and 2 seconds. Elder isn’t resting after her recent 70.3 Ironman win. She’s planning to compete in the Boston Marathon in April and a full Ironman competition in June.

Maggie Elder, 36th Aerial Port Squadron operations officer here, finished first in the women’s division and placed eighth overall in a Half Ironman competition Feb. 19. Proving her warrior spirit and powerful physical endurance, Elder finished the three-part race with a time of 5 hours, 24 minutes and 2 seconds. Chief Recognition Ceremony

More than 30 446th AES members participated in the flight departing from McChord Field Jan. 8, 2012. The exercise included scenarios where patients injured in combat needed to be loaded and cared for on a four-hour flight around the local area. These training exercises occur monthly and enable Reservists to hone their skills for real-world deployments and humanitarian missions.

Maj. Tony Edwards, 446th Logistics Readiness Flight commander, returned recently from his deployment to Kirkuk Regional Air Base, Iraq, where he acted as the 321st Logistics Readiness Squadron commander and helped pack up remaining gear as the United States prepared to turn the base over to Iraqis.
