JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash.- Maj. Steven Lee, right, 446th Airlift Wing executive, stands with Brig. Gen. Balan Ayyar, Air Force Recruiting Service commander, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, during Major Lee’s promotion ceremony at the 446th AW headquarters auditorium here, Oct 1. Major Lee was promoted to lieutenant colonel. Colonel Lee and General Ayyar graduated from the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. in 1987. They were in undergraduate pilot training together at Columbus Air Force Base, Miss., where they became friends. They worked together as T-37 Tweet instructor pilots at Columbus AFB as their first duty assignments. In 1994, General Ayyar commanded the 4th Airlift Squadron at then, McChord Air Force Base, Wash., while Colonel Lee flew the C-141 Starlifter as a Reservist with the 313th Airlift Squadron, also at McChord AFB. Punching the clock
Lt. Col. Anna Sullivan, chief of 446th Airlift Wing Public Affairs, poses for a photo July 28 in the 446th AW headquarters conference room. Her retirement ceremony takes place today at 5 p.m. at Heritage Hill here. Sullivan, who is the public affairs air reserve technician, will retire after more than 40 years of military service and 29 years as a Department of Defense civilian.

Rain or shine, Reservists present the colors
Despite the less than ideal weather conditions at the Seattle Seahawks game, Jan. 11 at Century Link Field in Seattle, Wash., Team McChord Airmen along with 40 members from the other service branches, stood together to present the U.S. flag during the pregame ceremonies.
