  • Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey helps civilians voice their opinions

    The FEVS is a government-wide, Office of Personnel Management administered annual survey that Air Force civilian employees have been participating in since 2006. The approximately 100-question survey takes 20-to-30 minutes to complete and is anonymous. The survey includes questions about employees’ work-life, job and organizational satisfaction, commitment, engagement, performance management and communication. It measures employee perceptions of whether their organization is successful.
  • Air Force offers tuition assistance for civil service Ph.D. candidates

    Air Force officials recently approved tuition assistance funding for eligible Ph.D. candidates through the Civilian Tuition Assistance Program. Applications are due July 2, 2017 for academic programs this fall and need to include a strong justification statement explaining how the course work will benefit the Air Force mission.
  • AF civilian hiring resumes after hiring freeze lifted

    The Air Force Personnel Center is partnering with customers with the goal of resuming normal “first-in, first-out” operations since the government-wide hiring freeze ended in early April 2017.
  • 2-year probationary period now in effect for new civilians

    All new federal employees appointed within the Defense Department to permanent positions in the competitive service are now required to serve a two-year probationary period.
