Senior Airman David Smith (center left), emergency management apprentice, and Senior Airman Alexis Feredinos (center right), emergency management journeyman both with the 446th Civil Engineer Squadron, explain how Reservists use various equipment to prevent casualties during an emergency situation on the flightline Aug. 29. Their presentation was part of a “Bosslift” tour, where 32 military support representatives, including business owners and local community leaders, spent a day on base to learn first-hand about the mission of the 446th Airlift Wing. Susan Coulter, a volunteer with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, gave a presentation about ESGR before the group journeyed to the flight line, where members from the 446th Aeromedical Staging Squadron and 446th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron loaded two mock critically-wounded patients onto a C-17 Globemaster III. Reservists from the 446th Security Forces Squadron and firefighters from the 446th CES also exhibited their expertise with the group. They later boarded a C-17, where Reserve pilots and loadmasters performed an air drop training mission. The tour ended after an orientation with the Air National Guard’s Western Air Defense Sector.
