Local organizations donate to Care & Share

MCCHORD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash., Carlene Joseph of the Pierce Military Business Alliance in Lakewood, Wash., presents to Col. William Flanigan, 446th Airlift Wing commander, a $2,000 check for the wing's Care & Share program during a commander's call here Nov. 8. Care & Share supports Reserve Airmen in a variety of ways; from short-term loans to help pay rent to Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for struggling families. The generous gift from PMBA was matched by the Hawks Prairie Rotary Club, Lacey, Wash., which also donated $2,000 to Care & Share. ?Our goal is to make sure the 446th Airlift Wing is taken care of every year,? said Ms. Joseph. Members of the PMBA raised the money by collecting donations outside local Top Food & Drug stores and organizing a golf tournament at Meadow Park Golf Course in September.
