Pilot travels to New Zealand to give thanks

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash., - In May 2009 Maj. Joe Nauman, right, takes the oath of office during his pin on ceremony when he was promoted to lieutenant colonel. Colonel Nauman, a Reservist with the 97th Airlift Squadron, JBLM McChord Field, recently visited the doctor in New Zealand whom he credits with initiating the discovery of his non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Chemotherapy and radiation may have resulted in hair loss, but ultimately resulted in his illness being sent into remission. (Courtesy photo)
