Model Airman

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash., -- Master Sgt. Charles King, 446th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, holds a replica of a P-51 Mustang that was flown by an original Tuskegee Airman, retired Capt. Roscoe Brown Jr. Sergeant King purchased the model aircraft while at the 39th Tuskegee Airmen Conference in San Antonio, Texas earlier this year. He was able to meet Captain Brown and have him sign the aircraft model, which now sits proudly in Sergeant King's office here. Sergeant King is a member of the Seattle-area Sam Bruce Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen. "Our main goal is to keep the legacy alive," he said. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Grant Saylor)
