How we Serve

Staff Sgt. Jim Feuchtwanger, Ramp load team member, 86th Aerial Port Squadron Jim hails from Portland, Ore., and has been with the 446th Airlift Wing since 2009. He served as an aviation technician in the Navy from 1987 to 1995. After a break in service, he found that he missed the military, but he wanted a change of pace from the Navy, hence he joined the Air Force Reserve. He says he enjoys the camaraderie of his unit, working with C-17 aircraft, and getting to do the job he trains for when he participates during Reserve drill weekends. Feuchtwanger is one of more than 2,400 Citizen Airmen assigned to the 446th Airlift Wing who supports the Air Mobility Command mission around the world on a daily basis. The 446th AW is Washington state’s only Air Force Reserve flying unit, and is based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, McChord Field, Wash. (U.S. Air Force photos/Airman 1st Class Madelyn McCullough)
