MCCHORD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash., - A water control substation was the focus of Reserve civil engineer Airmen during their annual tour here. The Reservists, in just five days, worked a fire protection system overhau. Reserve Airmen from the 446th Civil Engineer Squadron retrofitted the decades-old building with an extensive list of modern fire protection equipment, including installation of approximately 400 feet of conduit piping, 800 feet of electrical wire, 15 tamper control modules, three smoke detectors, two fire alarm pull stations with horn strobes and a fire alarm control panel.
