446th Reservist meets SECAF, share good times.
KANDAHAR AIR FIELD, Afghanistan- Col. Paul Abson, 446th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, flight commander, McChord Air Force Base, Wash., and Secretary of the Air Force Michael Donley share a light-hearted moment over an anecdote Aug. 30. Colonel Abson is the only Air Force Reservist assigned to the 772nd Expeditionary Airlift Squadron here as a flight surgeon providing medical support to the squadron aircrew and maintainers. Colonel Abson is an example of the total force concept, where a Reservist can seamlessly integrate with the active duty to support a mission. In addition to his role as a flight surgeon, he also works at the Role 3 Army Hospital as an ear nose and throat consultant and participates in surgical care of trauma patients. Secretary Donley visited Kandahar Air Field to see firsthand how the Air Force is participating in the new surge strategy, meet with the deployed Air Force members to gain an appreciation of what they were going through and to give an opportunity for direct feedback to him. The 772nd EAS is the expeditionary form of the 41st Combat Airlift Squadron; which is made entirely of active duty personnel from Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt.
