On the rise
Air Force Airman 1st Class Joel Adriance, 446th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron hydaulic systems apprentice out of McChord Field, Wash., takes a ride in a Condor maintenance platform basket in order to place external locks on a C-17 Globemaster III rudder, Sept. 22, 2011. Adriance is also a high school math teacher in Coupeville, Wash. He joined because he felt the need to serve. Winter Wingman Day 2011
Reservists from the 446th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron here, participated in the Winter Wingman Day 2011 on Feb. 12. During the training session, maintainers creatively designed devices with straws and tape to protect an egg from a 10-foot drop. The concept for protecting the egg was likened to the network of support provided for Airmen who might experience stress in their lives.
