Reservists get free membership to Sittercity program Published March 2, 2010 By Staff Sgt. Nicole Celestine 446th Airlift Wing Public Affairs JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. -- Thanks to the Department of Defense, Reservists can now join the national in-home provider online network, Sittercity, free of charge. Sittercity is the nation's largest and most trusted online resource for finding local babysitters, child care providers, nannies, elder care companions, housekeepers, tutors and dog walkers. The network gives servicemembers, whether active-duty, Reserve or guard, and their families instant access to more than a million nationwide, comprehensive caregiver profiles that include background checks, references, reviews, pictures and more. Sittercity's matching technology helps families hand pick the perfect provider to suit their family needs, and make all arrangements including hiring decisions and payment of providers. The online resource also enables Reservists and their families to connect with military-certified Family Child Care home care providers who are subsidized by the military and/or authorized access to a military installation. Log onto www.sittercity.com/dod to activate your free membership, find a local child care provider or get for more information.
