The deadlines for registering to vote and requesting absentee ballots for the presidential election are quickly approaching. Anyone who wants to vote should research their state’s requirements and complete the necessary steps before it’s too late. “Every state has its own registration deadline,” said Lynette Turner, 22nd Air Refueling Wing director of staff voting assistance officer. “For some states, the registration deadline has already passed, but for a lot of states, it’s mid-October, so now is a perfect time to check out what your state requires and make sure that your voice is heard.” To register to vote and request an absentee ballot, visit https://www.fvap.gov/vote, select your state of residence and follow the step-by-step directions to complete the process.
