JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD -- The 2016 JBLM Air Show & Warrior Expo is fast approaching August 27-28 at McChord Field. The all-day event will feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds as the marquee act, along with the U.S. Army’s “Golden Knights.”
For up-to-date information on frequently asked questions as well as who is performing, check out http://jblmawe.com. Admission is free as well as parking. It’s also advised to arrive early to avoid long lines and heavy traffic.
Drivers can enter JBLM at the McChord Field gate starting at 9 a.m.
Those familiar with airshows might have a few questions about traffic that can be answered at http://jblmawe.com/faq.html.
Event entrances open to the public at 9 a.m. each day. Flying performances are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. each day. Flying times are subject to change due to weather or scheduling conflicts.
Public traffic flow will shift to outbound directions around 2 p.m. each day, in order to prepare for a large number of people leaving JBLM.
