How We Serve: Staff Sgt. Allen Jackson Published Aug. 15, 2013 MCCHORD FIELD, Wash. -- Staff Sgt. Allen Jackson - 446th Airlift Wing Chaplain Corps, chaplain assistant Allen has been with the 446th since 2000. "My family has a lengthy history of military service, dating back to the Civil War," he said. "My father was in World War II and three of my brothers served in the Vietnam War." Originally from Port Townsend, Wash., Allen resides in Tacoma. He has been working with UPS since 1986. Allen has been driving the JBLM route for the company for nearly 20 years. He is one of nine children, seven of which have served in the U.S. military. Jackson is one of more than 2,400 Citizen Airmen assigned to the 446th Airlift Wing who supports the Air Mobility Command mission around the world on a daily basis. The 446th AW is Washington state's only Air Force Reserve flying unit, and is based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.
