The 446th Force Support Squadron Unit Training Managers will be conducting the Air Force Training Course Sept. 8, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., in Bldg. 1205, Room 122.

ESGR hosts summer event
The Washington State Employer Support of Guard and Reserve Committee is hosting a great summer event for you and your civilian employer. The event is planned for Saturday, Aug. 31 with a barbecue starting at 6 p.m. on the Party Deck at Cheney Stadium and you can register by contacting ESGR's Kathi Wilcox at kathleen.i.wilcox.ctr@mail.mil. Her phone is 253-512-8253. The Tacoma Rainiers will take on the Sacramento River Cats that evening. Barbecue and game tickets are free but seats are limited so register now if you are interested.

Mandatory lodging training
There will be a mandatory training class for all non-commuters to attend on Sept. 7 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., in the operations group auditorium, Bldg. 1216. This training will be on the new automated lodging reservation system being implemented during the October UTA. There will also be a training held on the Alternate UTA; time and date to be determined

Reserve Officers Association opens to NCOs
Members of the Reserve Officers Association have expanded the organization's membership eligibility to include noncommissioned officers.
In a statement to its existing membership of roughly 60,000 commissioned officers, the organization outlined its new eligibility standards: "Any active, retired or former commissioned officer, warrant officer, noncommissioned officer or petty officer, who at any time upon entering the federal uniformed services took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States, and, if no longer serving, whose separation occurred under honorable circumstances, is eligible for an active membership."

Hiring fair for spouses
For those of you who have spouses looking for a job, or a better one, there will be a Hiring Fair and Career Forum Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the McChord Club. The event is sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and Hiring Our Heroes and will feature employers looking for, and committed to, hiring military spouses; presentations to help spouses plan a career, and resume writing assistance.
