As if the Seahawks' imminent opening home game isn't bringing enough excitement to close the summer, your one-and-only Air Force Reserve and 446th Airlift Wing give you the Subway Beast Mode Challenge.

Sept. 6, Meadowbrook Farm, near North Bend will be the area of operation for a 3.5-mile confidence course - grime and grit style - with 12 football-themed obstacles of hills, barriers, water, and sludge, designed to motivate and elicit one's inner Beast Mode - similar to a Citizen Airman in the field.

Current Department of Defense ID card holders, to include Reserve, [Air] National Guard, and active-duty service members, civilian employees and contractors, retirees, and families, can take advantage of the Reserve's $5-discount on registration by entering the "AFR12" promotion code when they sign up through www.BeastModeChallengeSeattle.com.

At least two teams of Airmen will represent the 446th and the Reserve as they claw, trudge, and stiff arm their way through the course to cross the 12th obstacle, the "Air Force Reserve End Zone Dive."

The Challenge isn't all about blood, sweat, and tears. It's designed for most ages with live entertainment, Beast Mode contests throughout the day, photo booths, festival activities, and more.

Air Force Reserve recruiters will also be on hand at the 12th obstacle to address any questions or concerns about the Reserve.

Event proceeds go to the Fam 1st Foundation, created by San Francisco 49ers Joshua Johnson, and the Seahawks' own Marshawn Lynch, to keep underprivileged youth on a positive path.
