The 4th Air Force commander and command chief, out of March Air Reserve Base, Washington, visited the 446th Airlift Wing Nov. 7-8 to give valuable insight to team.

Maj. Gen. John Flournory and Chief Master Sgt. Brian Wong visited the Puget Sound as part of Flournoy's Numbered Air Force tour to identify opportunities and challenges, which affect mission readiness, and help alleviate some of those issues where possible.

"I always look forward to the opportunity to engage with Airmen," Flournoy said.

He shared nine lines he expects from his Reservists as a "road map" on good Airmanship. His points included:

1. Live the Air Force core values 24/7, on and off base, in and out of uniform.
2. Treat others how you want to be treated (or how you'd like your family members treated).
3. Hold yourself and others accountable.
4. Be fit to fight year round for military members.
5. Be mission ready year round.
6. Use your chain of command.
7. Be a good wingman.
8. Maintain a culture of compliance.
9. Have fun.

"These points aren't rocket science," Flournoy said. "They're simple and achievable goals."

One of the highlights during the visit was the 446th Aeromedical Staging Squadron skills laboratory demonstration. Medical nurses and technicians showcased the Air Force Reserve's only Regional Skills Laboratory used to provide annual realistic medical training to hundreds of military personnel. "These outstanding men and women support a unique capability," he said.

Flournoy rounded up his visit saying he was impressed with the support provided by the 446th AW to Operation Deep Freeze - the McChord-specific C-17 Antarctic mission - working closely with active duty counterparts to support scientific research in Antarctica. "The cooperation necessary to accomplish Operation Deep Freeze exemplifies the kind of cohesion that is so important to our mission."

"We are one team, no seam," he added. "Go fourth and conquer!"
