Updated mask wear policy for 446th AW Airmen

446 AW,

In accordance with DOD policy, in concert with 62 AW policy, and subject to any applicable labor relations obligations, fully-vaccinated personnel assigned to the 446th Airlift Wing are no longer required to wear masks while on the installation.  Personnel are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the final vaccine dose.

Those who elect not to receive the vaccine remain at greater risk of contracting the virus and ARE REQUIRED to continue to wear their mask indoors and when unable to maintain proper social distancing. Visit https://go.usa.gov/xHc4t for Madigan COVID-19 vaccine appointment information.

This guidance does NOT apply off base; personnel must still comply with state and local guidance.

The Commissary, BX, health care facilities, and other organizations may still require masks for all personnel. Please be considerate of their policies.

Additionally, commanders and supervisors are authorized to further restrict this policy where applicable to protect our mission, but should not ask about an employee’s vaccination status or use information about an employee’s vaccination status to make decisions about reporting to a workplace instead of teleworking.

Best regards,

PAUL M. SKIPWORTH, Colonel, USAF

Commander, 446th Airlift Wing (AFRC)
