JOINT BASE LEWIS-McCHORD, Wash. -- Getting important information just got a little easier.
The 446th Airlift ‘Rainier’ Wing launched a sub app through the USAF Connect mobile app.
The sub app is designed to empower Reserve Citizen Airmen with tools to navigate time spent here more efficiently, enhancing access to information needed to manage their Air Force life and career.
USAF Connect app features include a wing phone directory, PFT calculator and push notifications. Push notifications allow leadership send out important information to members about traffic or inclement weather issues.
“The members of the 446th Airlift Wing need to be ready to go to war and support our Airmen when our nation calls,” said Col. Tony Angello, 446th AW vice commander. “That means we need to communicate efficiently and with the speed and ease of use for those of us who are only out on the base once a month.”
Angello went on to discuss the importance of downloading and exploring the sub app.
“The USAF Connect app will take our ability to communicate to the next level so we have access to all the information we need to perform our mission of being combat ready to deploy,” he said. “Take the time to download and explore the 446 AW Rainier Wing sub app on your personal mobile device as soon as you can. Trust me….you won’t regret it!”
Reserve Citizen Airmen can install the USAF Connect app on their smart device from the Apple App Store or Google Play and select the 446th Airlift Wing when prompted to add favorites. Users can select up to 10 organizations as favorites, making it easy to get information anytime, anywhere.

* Air Force guides, Air Force e-pubs and fitness information
* Weather information
* A 446th AW directory of general contacts

The USAF Connect app can also connect squadrons and groups. Members can create groups on the USAF Connect app, sharing information, messages, and schedules as well as get instant feedback from users using polls.
Rainier Wing Airmen are encouraged to download USAF Connect and add the 446th Airlift Wing to their favorites. The app does not track your location or collect personal data.

USAF Connect is an Air Force-wide mobile app designed to enable, engage and empower Airmen by centralizing and increasing access to the information they need for their careers. In addition to providing headquarters-level information, local units can maintain sub-apps, accessible through the USAF Connect Favorites Portal.
