Fort Lewis road closes for repair, resurfacing Published Oct. 27, 2009 I Corps FORT LEWIS, Wash. -- Fort Lewis officials will close a 900-foot section of 150th St. SW from Nov. 2 - 21 for repair and resurfacing. Outside the Fort Lewis cantonment area, 150th St. SW connects with Perimeter Road, which runs between Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base. Typically 150th St. SW is used for commuter traffic from I-5 to Spanaway. This road closure will impact local community traffic. The closure of 150th St. SW must be done during the construction period because the road is too narrow to keep one lane open and safely do the work, while traffic passes in the opposite lane. During the road closure the Fort Lewis and McChord AFB gates near 150th St. SW will remain open.
