Unit climate assesment lets your opinion count Published April 27, 2010 By Lt. Col. Anna Sullivan 446th Airlift Wing Public Affairs JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. -- A 446th Airlift Wing-wide Unit Climate Assessment is scheduled for the beginning of May and runs through the July UTA. The assessment will be sent out electronically to 100 percent of the wing population and is designed to measure attitudes on morale, communications, quality of life, human relations as well as leadership and management issues. Wing Reservists are encouraged to participate in the assessment, said Capt Barb McMullen, chief of Military Equal Opportunity and coordinator of the bi-annual survey. The results of the assessment are confidential and anonymous. They are used by the wing's leadership to shape policies and develop programs needed to improve morale. To participate in the survey, you can follow the link provided in May via e-mail to your offical e-mail address. You can fill out the survey either from a .mil computer or from your home computer. "The survey won't take more than 10 minutes to fill out," Capt. McMullen said. "And, for those who cannot access the survey on a computer, they can fill it out in hard copy." The paper copy surveys will be available from unit commanders and at the Wing Commander's Call schedule for May 2 at 8:30 a.m. in Hangar 9. The wing-wide 2007 survey did not get enough participation to yield results, so Captain McMullen is emphasizing the importance of playing your part in helping improve areas of concern to Reservists in the wing. "It's like the Lotto," she said. "You can't win, if you don't play. Your opinion can make a positive difference on your's, and everyone's, Air Force Reserve experience," she said. For more information on the survey contact Captain McMullen at 982-5939 on UTA weekends or at barbara.mcmullen@mcchord.af.mil.
