Elizabeth Moody 446th Airlift Wing Public Affairs JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. -- The 446th Airlift Wing will host its annual Wing Family Day Picnic Aug. 7, at Heritage Hill. This year promises to be a spectacular affair with a fully-catered lunch by Famous Dave's BBQ, professionally-supervised children's games, contests, music, static displays and much more, according to Lt. Col. "Dutch" Coumou, Wing Family Day project officer. Wing Family Day Picnic registration and ticket sales are available through your unit first sergeant. Reservists can also contact Master Sgt. Lunch tickets are $6 for individuals and $25 for families of five or more. Children four years old and younger attend for free. In addition to the wing picnic, a Spouse Appreciation Conference in the base theater is planned on Aug. 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. Topics will include benefits and entitlements for Air Force Reserve families, including Airman and Family Readiness Center, Military One Source and TRICARE. An orientation flight is planned for spouses of Reservists in aircrew, operations, maintenance, aerial port and Bonus AFSCs (see AFI 11-401_AFRCSUP1). The program is scheduled for 9 to 11:30 a.m., the morning of the picnic and includes a one-hour C-17 flight over Puget Sound on a first-come basis. Seating is limited.
