Gray cloudy weather could not stop this year's 446th Airlift Wing Family Day picnic from being another fun-filled event. Reservists and their families enjoyed lunch, games, contests, music, static displays and much more.

In addition to the annual picnic, eligible spouses of Reservists flew on a C-17 Globemaster III orientation flight, showcasing aeromedical evacuation and loadmaster skills in real time.

"We had a great turnout with 60 spouses who were able to climb above the weather and see Mount Adams, Mount Rainier, and Mount Hood before returning here to see a combat offload and enjoy the afternoon," said Lt. Col. Michael Kasic, a pilot with the 728th Airlift Squadron, here.

"The Family Day team hit a home run," said Col. William Flanigan, 446th AW commander. "It's humbling to see the outpouring of everyone's enthusiasm at the wing event."
