Commissary on-site sales set for Wenatchee, Redmond Published Aug. 12, 2011 By Sandra Pishner 446th Airlift Wing Public Affairs MCCHORD FIELD, Wash. -- All DOD ID card holders, including DOD retirees and dependents, who can make their way to Wenatchee, Wash., or Redmond, Ore., are invited to shop a commissary on-sale set for each location. Take advantage of savings on popular grocery items at the commissary on-site sale taking place in Wenatchee, Wash., Aug. 26-77, 9 a.m., to 5 p.m. at the Wenatchee Armory, 1230 5th St. The Fairchild AFB, Wash., commissary is hosting this on-site sale. If Oregon is more your style, try the on-site sale scheduled for Aug. 26-28 at the Deschutes Fairground and Expo Center in the High Desert Activity Building, 3800 SW Airport Way in Redmond. Sale hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. This sale is hosted by the McChord Field commissary at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. Commissary on-site sales are open to Guardsmen, Reservists, retirees, active-duty servicemembers, and their dependents. The Defense Commissary Agency has expanded its reach to Guard and Reserve members by bringing these on-site sales to military members in areas with military populations not served by a nearby commissary. Sale items include paper products, soap and cleaning products, canned goods, sodas, sport drinks, water, laundry detergents, and a variety of other products at savings of 30 percent or more. Customers must present an appropriate Department of Defense identification card that authorizes commissary privileges in order to shop. Cash, checks, debit and credit cards are accepted for payment.
