Yakima, Wash., location of next on-site commissary sale Published Oct. 20, 2011 By Sandra Pishner 446th Airlift Wing Public Affairs MCCHORD FIELD, Wash. -- All DOD ID card holders, including DOD retirees and dependents, who can make their way to Yakima, Wash., this weekend are invited to shop a commissary on-site sale set for Oct. 21-22. Sale items may include paper products, soap and cleaning products, canned goods, sodas, sport drinks, water, laundry detergents, and a variety of other products at a savings that averageĀ 30 percent or more. Take advantage of savings on popular grocery items at this commissary on-site sale from 9 a.m., to 5 p.m., each day at the Yakima Readiness Center, 2501 Airport Lane. The Fairchild AFB, Wash., commissary is hosting this on-site sale. Commissary on-site sales are open to Guardsmen, Reservists, retirees, active-duty servicemembers, and their dependents. The Defense Commissary Agency has expanded its reach to Guard and Reserve members by bringing these on-site sales to military members in areas with military populations not served by a nearby commissary. Customers must present an appropriate Department of Defense identification card that authorizes commissary privileges in order to shop. Cash, checks, debit and credit cards are accepted for payment.
