The 446th Airlift Wing's Judge Advocate's office, aka legal office, has moved to Bldg. 1207, Room 128.

Currently staff with two attorneys and one paralegal, the legal office offers a variety of services to Air Force Reservists.

Most services can be initiated by Reservists at the Air Force Legal Services Web site:https://aflegalassistance.law.af.mil/lass/lass.html

"When visiting the Web site, I encourage you to fill out the survey on the site," said Tech. Sgt. Corin Gadsby, 446th AW/JA law office manager. "That way we know how our services are helping clients or how we can improve our services."

On the Web site, Reservists can draft up their own powers of attorney, durable powers of attorney and fill out will worksheets, as well as obtain information on various legal issues.

"Please know that you cannot print from this site," said Gadsby. "When you create your legal document, you will be given a ticket number. You can e-mail that ticket number to me, Lt. Col. Bradley Holmgren or Lt. Col. Bradley Volk or all three of us, which is what I would recommend. One of us will be able to print your document for you and we will be able to notarize that document as soon as you come by."

Please remember to bring your ID card. No appointment necessary, but you may want to call first to ensure someone is available. If you need a Will, an appointment is required. Please call during the primary UTA weekend.

While the legal office staff cannot represent you in a civilian matter, they can offer you assistance in areas of consumer law, family law, the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, and other legal issues. If in doubt, ask.

If subject to an Article 15 or court-martial, Reservists have access to an Area Defense Counsel to represent them. If a Reservist is subject to administrative discharge, administrative demotion or receives any other administrative action such as letter of reprimand or a referral enlisted evaluation report, the ADC is available to assist with those issues as well. Capt. Sarah Carlson is the McChord Field ADC and can be reached at 982-2240. She is an active-duty ADC and only be reach during the week.
