Senior Airman George Gilbert
Senior Airman George Gilbert, 446th Airlift Wing Financial Management technician George has been with the 446th AW since 2010. “I always wanted to be in the military,” he said. “My dad worked for Northrop Grumman, so it made sense for me to join the Air Force.” George resides in his hometown, Portland, and is planning on using his Post 9/11 G.I. Bill to attend flight school in order to earn his pilot license.
In his free time, he likes to visit his parents in Grand Junction, Colo. and study different kinds of aircraft. Gilbert is one of more than 2,400 Citizen Airmen assigned to the 446th Airlift Wing who supports the Air Mobility Command mission around the world on a daily basis. The 446th AW is Washington state’s only Air Force Reserve flying unit, and is based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, McChord Field, Wash. (U.S. Air Force photos/Master Sgt. Jake Chappelle)
