Jake Hagan, the training and readiness officer for Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5, speaks about bilateral airfield damage repair training held at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 24, 2024. U.S. service members and Japan Self-Defense Forces service members trained together on using construction equipment, tools, portable equipment and temporary surfacing material to provide a minimum operating surface using expedient repair methods in any environment, including austere, overseas and deployed locations.
