Pfc. Maria Hoyt, a unit supply specialist with C Company, 1st Battalion, 112th Aviation Regiment, speaks about how the Washington Army National Guard and being crowned Miss Pierce County, are helping her reach her academic and career goals. Hoyt, a graduate from South Kitsap High School, Port Orchard, Washington, graduated high school with an associate's degree from Olympic College, Bremerton, Washington, through the Running Start program. She is currently enrolled in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps program at Washington State University, Pullman, Washington, and plans on becoming a Military Intelligence officer upon graduation.
