Colonel 446TH AIRLIFT WING DEPUTY COMMANDER

COLONEL CASEY E. GUERRERO

Colonel Casey E. Guerrero is the Deputy Commander of the 446th Airlift Wing, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. He ensures the readiness of more than 1,600 Reservists and civilians to support worldwide airlift and airdrop operations. The 446th Airlift Wing flies and supports the C-17 Globemaster III weapon system. Partnering with active-duty, Guard and civilian agencies, the 446th Airlift Wing provides airlift support to Operation Deep Freeze, the National Science Foundation’s U.S. Antarctic Program.

Colonel Guerrero commissioned in 1999 from the United States Air Force Academy as well as an All-American gymnast. He was the first class to go through initial flight training where he earned his private pilot license before entering Joint Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training at Vance Air Force Base, Okla. His first major weapon system was flying the C-141B and upgraded to an aircraft commander accumulating 1,531 flying hours. He was the first C-141B aircrew out of McGuire AFB, N.J. to launch 72 hours after the 9/11 attacks. In 2004, he was hand-picked to help transition McGuire AFB, N.J. to be the newest C-17A Globemaster III base. Towards the end of his assignment, he was awarded the 305th Wing Scheduler of the Year and was transferred to the 8th Airlift Squadron, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. 

Colonel Guerrero joined the Air Force Reserve in Oct of 2009 and transferred to the 446th Airlift Wing, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. He has also served in multiple flying operations upgrading to an evaluator pilot in addition to being an Operation Deep Freeze instructor pilot. Colonel Guerrero has amassed more than 6,000 flight hours in the T-37, T-1, C-141B and C-17A. In 2015, he served as an Action Officer at Headquarters Air Force, Washington, D.C., assigned to the Total Force-Continuum office/A5-8. Prior to his current assignment, Colonel Guerrero served as the Reserve Advisor to the Director of Operations and AMC Commander at Headquarters Mobility Command, Scott AFB, Il

He is a commercial pilot with a major airline based out of Seattle, Washington flying both domestic and international routes.
