At the beginning of summer every year at Carter Lake Elementary School on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, students from military families take part in Camp Eagle. It’s an event where different military components from around JBLM are afforded the opportunity to explain something about their career field.

Representatives from the 446th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, Capt. Kathleen Riggles and Master Sgt. Daniel Nelson spent a week at the school talking to students about treating patients from an Air Force Reserve perspective. They also demonstrated some of the equipment they used, with a fair amount of audience participation.
