  • Air University academic accreditation reaffirmed

    The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges reaffirmed the regional accreditation for Air University during a recent board meeting Dec. 8, 2019.
  • Every October, we recognize Energy Action Month to highlight the critical role energy plays in Air Force operations, and to encourage smart energy use and management for our installations, ground vehicles, and aircraft. This year, our new theme of "Energy Able – Mission Capable” will showcase how efficient energy use increases mission capability and readiness for our global mission. Whether we’re championing projects that optimize aviation fuel use, or encouraging Airmen to make smart energy decisions at individual installations, our goal is to foster a culture that prioritizes energy optimization and water management.

    Air Force Recognizes Energy Action Month 2019

    During Energy Action Month, the Air Force will emphasize the need for smart energy solutions and inform Airmen, Air Force senior leaders, policy makers and aligned organizations about what they can do to effectively distribute, generate and manage resilient and reliable energy across the enterprise.
  • An Air Force Academy cadet works on an engineering project. The Academy has a large number of research relationships with the Air Force Research Laboratory, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and industry leaders that exposes cadets to real-world technical problems.

    Academy plays central role in developing tomorrow’s STEM leaders

    Cadets at the Air Force Academy today are immersed in hands-on STEM programs while also exposed to a broad education in the humanities and non-technical disciplines. All cadets take at least two-thirds of their coursework in a cross-disciplinary core and almost half of all their courses are in STEM fields.

    In accordance with Air Force senior leaders’ Strengthening Joint Leaders and Teams Implementation Plan, the Air Force is refining and strengthening how Airmen are developed to integrate into and lead joint teams.

    AF announces changes to Courses 14 and 15

    Effective immediately, Air Force officials have removed the requirement to complete Courses 14 and 15 for all Airmen serving in the active component. Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Airmen will have the option to complete their enlisted professional military education through distance learning or in-residence attendance.

    Air Force officials announced major changes to the enlisted professional military education program today via an initiative called Enlisted Professional Military Education for the 21st Century, or “EPME 21.”
