12/8/2009 - MCCHORD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- Approximately 2,000 emergency services vehicles from throughout the U.S. and Canada depart McChord Air Force Base Dec. 8 in a procession to the Tacoma Dome Memorial Service honoring four fallen Lakewood, Wash., police officers. McChord Airmen, including Reservists from the 446th Airlift Wing, provided a staging area for emergency responders and their vehicles and honored the Lakewood Police Officers by lining the streets of the installation procession route. Many Reservists in the wing serve as police officers, firefighters, and other first responders in communities throughout Washington. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Eric Burks) |
